Dear Religion!

Oh, religion, thou art quite the absurdity,

With all your dogmas and divine alacrity.

You claim to have answers to life's big questions,

But your explanations often lack introspections.

First, there's the idea of a creator divine,

A bearded man in the clouds, a super-woman riding a lion from the sky...

Fairy tales told and retold in thousands verses and rubble

so no questions are asked that make them uncomfortable!

"Texts" are filled with contradictions,

One verse says love all, the next fosters divisions.

And the rules, oh the rules that you decree,

Are a mix of arbitrary and pure hypocrisy.

Thou shalt not kill, (except in holy wars)

Where thousands of lives are sent to the shores.

Thou shalt not steal (unless it is to tithe) can't be blamed

To fund the luxurious lifestyles of those "who cant not be named"

You crave blind faith and unquestioning devotion,

But what about skepticism and critical notion?

If I dare to question your holy decrees,

I'm labeled a heretic or a person to appease.

And let's not forget the countless sects,

Each claiming to be the one that's truly blessed.

The Catholics, the Protestants, the Hindus, the Sunni and Shia,

All sure they're right, causing endless hysteria.

The criminal and the foxy claim to be the source of morality,

Yet you've been used as a weapon throughout history.

From the Crusades to the Witch Hunts so grim,

You are their weapon, your stupidity their dream!

So forgive me, if I find it hard to believe,

In doctrines that are so hard to conceive.

Religion, you may bring solace to many hearts,

But forgive me if I choose reason over your unhealthy farts.
